Come to Howard High School and see what it's like to be in the Marching Band!

 The Howard High School Marching Band cordially invites any 8th grade band student from Bonnie Branch, Elkridge Landing, or Ellicott Mills Middle School to visit them on Friday October 16, 2015 during that evening's football game to see what it's like to be in the Howard Marching Band.
The middle school students will:
  • Bring their instrument to Howard High School (except percussion)
  • Arrive at the stadium gate before 6 pm for pre-game warm up events 
  • Shadow a Howard High School student that plays the same instrument
  • March to the field and into the stadium with the Howard students just before the football game begins (apx. 6:50 pm)
  • Sit in the stadium with the Howard students during the football game
  • Perform "side-by-side" in the stadium during the football game
  • Walk out to the side of the field just before half-time with the Howard students
  • Watch the half-time Marching Band performance from the sidelines of the football field
  • Walk back to the stadium with the Howard students for the second half of the game
  • March from the stands back to the band room after the game
  • Follow directions from the Howard High School Band Director, Chris Campbell
  • Follow directions from the Howard High School Marching Band Drum Majors
The parents of middle school students will:
  • Bring students to the stadium gate at Howard High School before 6 pm on Friday October 16, 2015.
  • Volunteer to help in the Band Room, if desired.
  • Watch the football game and sit near the marching band in the stadium (or ensure that another responsible adult will stay at the game)
  • Pick up students from the Band room at Howard after the game.
  • Understand that this is not a school sponsored field trip; while several of the Bonnie Branch Music Booster parents will be present during this event, they are not legally chaperons.

Please arrive at the stadium gate at 5:55 pm.  Students (and parents that wish to help) will be escorted from the stadium gate to the Howard Band Room at 6 pm.
