Welcome Back to School! Fall 2023


We are so happy to be embarking upon the new school year and hope everyone had a safe and healthy summer!  We are looking forward to a great start to the school year!  The BBMS Music Boosters (hereafter referred to as the BBMB) are excited about exploring music opportunities for all of our student musicians as we continue to grapple with the ongoing global pandemic.  Our Music Directors are hard at work planning a music-filled year and we are hoping to engage passionate music parents to join us and support the BBMB.  The BBMB is continuing the annual Giving Team campaign where parents can donate directly to the BBMB program.  As a reminder, all money raised goes directly to support enrichment musical learning activities, musical equipment and supply purchasing, and education for our student musicians.  Last year we were able to provide the Directors (Band, Orchestra, Choir, and General Music) with $1,000 each to supplement their respective music programs. 
  • We are in need of new members to join the Music Boosters!  We are meeting on a monthly basis in the band/orchestra room at Bonnie Branch Middle School.  If you are interested in attending the next meeting, please send an email to our BBMB email:  [email protected]

  • Bring on new volunteers that will carry the BBMS Music Boosters traditions forward into the future!!

  • Discover new grant resources to continue offering additional programming and opportunities to our student musicians​

Past Year's Accomplishments

  • Maintained our official non-profit status as a 501 (c)(3) organization
  • Maintained this website!​
  • Produced new BBMS Music Program t-shirts that music students wore for many special events
  • Provided grants that allowed us to bring master musicians to work with our student musicians
  • Held our 15th annual Music with the Sharks concert ​
  • ​Held our 7th annual Musical
  • and much more!

We have resumed in-person events and you can earn reserved seating at concerts if you either volunteer to help the BBMB at a concert, serve on the BBMB board, or support in some other way.

Join Us!

Join the Music Boosters NOW so that you can "learn from the experts" before they "graduate" at the end of this school year.

Our next meeting will be on November 14, 2023.  Look for announcements about time/date in communications from your respective Music Directors!

What do the Music Boosters do?

We have been helping the music programs at Bonnie Branch since the fall of 2008.  The band, orchestra, chorus, and general music programs have grown tremendously since we began.  We have many more students participating in the Solo and Ensemble Fair and many students achieved high ratings!  Parents working together with our outstanding music directors have made all of this possible.  

These are some of the items and activities we support:
  • Music uniforms - assist in providing BBMS music department t-shirts to ensure that all student musicians look great during performances! 
  • Creating opportunities for students to perform inside & outside of school to foster confidence in performing. 
  • Hosting an end-of-year awards picnic to recognize hard work done all year. 
  • Bringing in professional musicians to school to work with the students and prepare them for key assessments or improve playing skills.
  • Assisting with concert performances to help support the music teachers.
  • Communicating music news in the Bonnie Branch email newsletter.
  • Providing additional funding for music directors to purchase music and instruments for our music programs. 

Above all, we try to make music fun for students so that they will love it and continue to make it a part of their life... forever.

Encouraging middle school students to participate and continue in music is a great way to volunteer. Join the Boosters -- You will be amazed at how satisfying and fun it really is. 

NOTE: whether you volunteer behind the scenes or on concert nights, all volunteers receive reserved seating at concerts.
